How Many Shirt Designs Fit on a Gang Sheet?

August 1, 2026 · 5 min read

A 22-inch DTF Edge gang sheet packed edge to edge with many different designs.

It's the question that decides your whole order: how many designs can you actually fit on one gang sheet? The honest answer is "it depends on how big they are and how well you pack them" — but that's not very useful on its own, so let's put real numbers to it.

The short version

Every DTF Edge gang sheet is 22" wide, and you choose the length. You can place as many designs as physically fit — the price is for the sheet, not per design. Small designs? Dozens per sheet. Big full-front prints? A handful. Here's roughly what that looks like.

Rough capacity by design size

These are ballpark counts on a 22" × 60" (5 ft) sheet, one of the most popular sizes:

  • Left-chest logos (~4"): around 60–75
  • Youth full-front (~7"): around 20–24
  • Adult full-front (~11"): around 6–8
  • Full-back prints (~14"): around 3–4

Scale it with the length: a 22" × 24" (2 ft) sheet holds roughly a quarter of those counts, and a 22" × 120" (10 ft) sheet about double. Mixing sizes is where it gets really efficient — more on that next.

Why "how tightly you pack it" matters so much

Because you're paying for sheet space, every empty gap is money left on the table. Three habits make a big difference:

  • Rotate designs to fit more across the 22" width — turning a tall design sideways can open up a whole extra column.
  • Fill the gaps with small pieces — tuck left-chest logos, sleeve prints, or pocket designs into the space around bigger graphics.
  • Mix sizes on purpose — one full-front, a couple of left-chests, and a sleeve print nest together far better than four of the same big design.

Tighter packing directly lowers your cost per print. Our gang sheet size & layout guide has more packing strategy.

Not sure what size each design should be?

Design size drives how many fit, so it's worth getting right. Our guide on what size DTF transfer to use on a shirt covers the standard widths for every placement.

Only need a few designs? Use a custom length

If your designs don't fill a standard size, don't pay for space you won't use. Pick a custom-length gang sheet and enter any length from 24" to 240" — you're priced per inch, so a short run stays cheap.

The foolproof way to know for sure

Estimates get you close, but the real answer is visual. Our DTF gang sheet builder lays every design out at true size on the 22" sheet, so you can drag, rotate, and pack until it's full — and watch the fit in real time before you order. Start building and see exactly how many of your designs fit.
